Sustainable aggregate production requires constant supervision and monitoring. As a company dedicated to providing customers with a sustainable aggregate supply chain, we adhere to various standards and norms to help foster more climate- and environmental protection.
Our quarries in Norway are already certified in the 3 ISO standards:
- ISO 9001 (quality management)
- ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety)
- ISO 14001 (environmental management)
Striving for more
We continually set new goals to take our environmental promise even further.
Our quarries are working towards receiving the ISO 50001 (energy management) certification.
For the Dutch market, we hold BRL 9324 certification for use in unbound applications, meaning we meet all soil quality requirements.
The technical management company of the shipping fleet, HJH Ship Management, has been certified by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for several years.
Sustainable construction with CSC-certified aggregates
CSC (Concrete Sustainability Council) certification is a global standard that is gaining increasing recognition. It promotes transparency regarding the impact of the manufacturing process on the entire value chain of products used in concrete. It also reviews the effects on the social and ecological environment. It has already been recognized by the DGNB system (German Sustainable Building Council) for assessing sustainable buildings. With Norsk Stein Jelsa, we were the first company in Norway to receive the bronze certificate from the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC).
